Building the Heart of Derryfield
A Place of Gathering & Connection
It has been our dream and vision for many years to build a Dining Commons at Derryfield, a spot that would be the heart and soul of our School, a place where we can come together to share a healthy meal, to learn about the importance of good nutrition, and to build community.
Safe Choices for your Diet
By partnering with Flik, our community will have access to the Nutrislice app. Flik builds their menus a month in advance, and with fresh scratch cooking, they know each ingredient used to make the meals provided. Families and students will be able to look at menus and identify food allergies, empowering students to move through the dining experience with knowledge and confidence about their food choices.
We’re Almost There!
Your support is important to help us cross the finish line. If you are interested in making a gift to help us complete this project, please contact Anna Moskov, Director of Philanthropy & Engagement at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Meet our Campaign Co-Chairs
Bob & Jennifer Grunbeck
Bob joined the Derryfield community in 2017 when his son Michael was a sixth grader. From the start Bob and his wife, Jennifer, were engaged with the School’s vision and long-term planning of our program and facilities. Their Family Foundation supported the Thinking Forward Campaign, and they were enthusiastic about the future of Derryfield. Their youngest son Mitchell joined Derryfield in 2019, and over the course of the previous two years, Bob and Jennifer had seen a clear need for The Commons. Bob joined the Board of Trustees in 2021, bringing expertise in hospitality, facilities, and project management. The Grunbeck Family believes deeply in a shared family meal, quality food, and how a space can build a community. We are grateful for his leadership on this important project.
Lauren was already connected to many Derryfield families when her daughter Caroline started in 2016, and she was quick to get involved in a number of activities. She was an active member of the Parent Faculty Association, planning their annual event, as well as a strong social convener. With her background in private school education, she joined the Board of Trustees in 2017. In addition to her role in the Commons campaign, Lauren has held a number of leadership roles on the Board including Chair of the Philanthropy & Engagement Committee, Vice-Chair of the Board, and Chair of the Head of School Search Committee. Lauren is committed to elevating Derryfield and providing the best possible experience for our students. While her children Caroline and Sam will not experience The Commons as current students, she looks forward to their opportunities to gather as alumni in the future.
